I'm pretty sure this bird is related to the bush turkey nesting outside my back window.

I've encountered a ghost.
It stood in an abandoned house......staring blankly.
Typical whitish dress........
They are always staring........never blinking............I hate ghost

Re: Stories People Swear Are True!
Summer of 2010 Maui, on a highway with my brother. We heard the beating of drums and tribal chants. I asked my brother whats the deal with the tribal party by the highway. He responded, don't try to find the noise. They are all ghosts whose burial ground was disturbed by the construction of the highway. Twas the norm from 10:00pm until around 1:00am. Trying to find the source of the sound would result in illness or worse if you encountered one of the tribal warriors.
Same time, Honolulu. Women with a white wedding dress thumbing for a ride. Apparently a victim during the construction of the highway. Known visible apparition of the highway. Cars break down or get into accidents if she is honked at. Hawaii is full of spirits without proper rest from the violent integration of the island into the United States.

Re: Stories People Swear Are True!
I will have many stories that are true, to share here on this thread.
I saw my first spirit/ghost when I was 6. It was right after x-mas and my sister and I were laying in bed going to sleep. We both heard the rocker rocking and looked up; there was my Uncle Raymond just rocking away, smiling at us. My sister was terrified and hid under the covers, refusing to answer me or communicate at all. She knew what I had not been told. My Uncle Raymond, who was an alcoholic, had been hit by a car in front of our apartment building. He had come over to bring us girls our x-mas presents, was drunk and my grandmother would not let him in to see us. When he was leaving, he was hit by a car and killed instantly. Since it was x-mas and I was so young, it was kept from me. However my beloved uncle wanted to let us girls know that he was still with us. I fell asleep watching him rocking, feeling absolutely no fear or even realizing that he was not there in the flesh.
Now there is a flip side to this story. To the adult members of my family, he was not so comforting. My mother did not raise me and was already married to someone else. Uncle Raymond made such a nuisance of himself in their bedroom by pacing at the bottom of their bed and yanking the covers off of them, that her current husband made her start sleeping in the front room. He was able to see my uncle also.
As far as my grandmother, he would appear behind her in the mirror as she brushed her hair and would tug hard on her hair, glowering at her. Of course eventually the priest was consulted and he said that my uncle was trying to ask for prayers to help him cross over. And that seemed to do the trick .

I've been seeing ghosts since i was old enough to remember. My grandma lived with us, and she was an occultist. (that's what you would call a witch when they weren't so popular!) she read cards, crystal balls, and had clairvoyent dreams. she was never afraid of ghosts, and so, then, neither was I. The first ones I would see would be other children, and often family members who had passed. I lived in a very cool family. My dad could see auras, my mom's intuition and "truth meter" was amazing. Crap, I've got customers, i'll tell more later..

Isn't it great not being afraid of the dark? Those little chills that you get when there is a 'someone' nearby? Seeing a flash out of the corner of your eye? Hearing a sound that others aren't tuned into? Catching a glimpse through the "veil" of an other worldly being that is only in scary fairytales ?
And how wonderful being able to talk freely about those experiences with people who know that you are not crazy or schizophrenic !!

I've never been afraid of them either, my dad always shared his interests in the paranormal with me. The paranormal has always fascinated me since I was a child, I've never had a fear of it.

Yes it is nice being here with like minded people, and to be able to openly discuss your experiences and beliefs with them without being thought of as a crazy lady lol! I do have a couple of people here at home that I talk to about these things, but to be honest you guys on here are a lot more open to it than they are.

Hi again! Yup, MrW, it took me a while to get rid of the Shadowman that was around my stepdaughter..a long while. And a broken bone, and some dead pets..it was actually a pretty tough nasty. But it's all gone, and my house is happy again, with happy spirits everywhere!

And if you don't see things...?
I don't get to see nuttin'...
Not for want of trying. It's not that I'm closed off to such things, so it isn't a belief thing.
It might be something else. From the other site...
My thought is that maybe, for whatever reason, the Wall is meant to keep me shut in, either for protection or perhaps for some purpose to come later on. Might even be a learning tool.
I emphasise there was enough corroboration in things as well as experimentation of the psychic side of things that I think they were seeing something real, and neither of them had anything to gain by making up stories.
And from later 'sessions' inside the Wall was something stranger...

Acolyte wrote:Your talk of veils and words laced around sounds a little like something I went through a while back. It is too strange and too long to go into here, but basically I was in contact with two rather psychic people & we were trying to deal with a situation that was strange for all of us.
As a part of that, they were trying to work out why I seem psychically blind - there were enough effects (which I, as a science oriented person, made sure I tested for wishful thinking etc.) that it was clear I am not psychically stunted, but I couldn't SEE what we were clearly sharing - I could reach out, I could channel power to them (again, something we tested) but for me it was just sitting with eyes closed and 'thinking'!
So they reached out and separately, both 'saw' a huge solid wall. With some trying different things they managed to reach inside, with strange results, but the wall they both described as massive, 'it feels like the Great Pyramid' one of them said, 'but it goes off into the distance.'
On the wall, at the point both of them seemed to automatically hone in on, there were symbols -
I'd be right curious if anyone has an interpretation for these... Their impression was these were like locks, or wards, and to do with keeping the wall in place.

Nothing specific jumps out, Mr W. And analytically, the style is different. Mind you, I didn't 'see' the symbols, the pic is what was sent to me by one of the psychic types.

although, confusingly, unless I quote the reference, all statements are IMO.

Just throwing out some pictures I remember....a tattoo

That looks eerily similar to the style of writing in your picture...given to you.

A few of those are Reiki symbols., which are used to connect with a Universal healing energy. The ones that you describe from the Wall. Others appear to be Runes, which is more of Captn_rob's area of expertise
